The New Orleans coroner's office has identified the 26-year-old man fatally shot in the 900 block of North Rocheblave Street early Friday afternoon. Jamie Washington was found lying outside an abandoned residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, said John Gagliano, the corner's chief investigator.
Paramedics took Washington to the hospital, and he was pronounced dead there. NOPD Homicide Detective Matthew Morrison is in charge of the investigation and can be reached at 504.658.5300.
Investigators have not released details on a motive or suspect in Washington's slaying. Police ask anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111 or toll-free at 877.903.7867.
