A Day For Wednesday?s Child
All day during CBS4 newscasts we will introduce you to the children who wait and tell you how any donation you can make will help the Adoption Exchange find forever families.
Now here?s the bargain part: It costs the state and local governments about $26,000 a year to keep a child in foster care. But, $1,600 buys a year?s worth of recruiting to find a permanent home! Now that?s money well spent.
In these times of budgetary crisis for so many communities and taxpayers, it pays to focus on creative solutions. That?s what the Adoption Exchange does. It warms my heart every time I receive a card from the Adoption Exchange letting me know one of our CBS4 Wednesday?s Children has been adopted. It?s life changing for the child, but so rewarding for all of us in the end.
