The 2012 NBA Draft is fast approaching, with mock drafts flying fast and furious around the world wide web. The Washington Wizards recent trade for Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza has likely modified their initial draft plans, meaning Thomas Robinson or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could now be lower on the board for Ernie Grunfeld and company. The lastest mock draft from the sports page of Business Insider seems to agree with that notion, predicting Washington will select guard Bradley Beal from Florida:
3. Washington Wizards - Bradley Beal (Florida)
STOCK: Holding in top 3.
Bradley Beal is a dynamic shooting guard who compares himself to Ray Allen, and NBA scouts love his game.
He could easily go at No. 2, but the Bobcats still seem to be waffling with their pick. If Beal is on the board, it seems hard to believe the Wizards would pass on a backcourt combination of John Wall and Bradley Beal.
The 2012 NBA Draft will kick off at 7:00 p.m. EST on June 28 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
